Step 3: Generate

April 14th, 2009 | Categories: Advanced Tutorial, Chameleon TGP/MGP Submitter

Sites are generated from the groups you select. The sites are generated automatically by matching the information entered in Step 1 and Step 2 with the data from the database (Site Details). This ensures that the rules of the sites including their submission limits are respected. You can order the sites by the number of recips per gallery and regroup them by several criteria simultaneously!

Step 3: Generate

Step 3: Generate

Make sure that the table does not contain any sites generated in the previous submit! If so, click on Remove All in the lower left corner or YES in the warning dialog which is opened if you failed to remove the sites. By not removing the sites you risk submitting to inactive sites!
This also needs to be done if you wish to modify the data entered in Step 1 or in Step 2.

Generate Sites from:
Select the Group from which you wish to generate the sites:

  • - all - will generate from all sites (Groups) in the database;
  • any other Group, you created in the Database.

Generate Sites for:
Select a group of sites, or both according to the submission method defined in the database:

  • Auto Submit check if you want to submit to sites intended for auto submit;
  • Manual Submit check in case you wish to submit to sites intended for manual submit.

Click on the Generate button to start site generation. After a while a list of all sites to which you can submit is displayed in a window.

The following site types are generated according to the number of pics and/or movies selected in Step 1:
     TGP accepts only picture galleries;
     MGP accepts only movie galleries or mixed galleries;
     TGP+ accepts both picture and movie galleries; or mixed galleries.
Clearly, other criteria are included when generating the sites depending on the information entered in Step 1 and/or Step 2 and the information contained in the Database (Site Details).

The order of sites generated on the list will be retained when duplicating the galleries in Step 4; with the exception of the sites without a recip link which are displayed at the top. The sites which require a single recip will be moved to the end of the list.

You can use the following tool to visualize the grouping of recips on duplicated galleries:

Sort Generated Sites:
Select # of Recips according to how many recip links you wish to have on the duplicated galleries. The sites without recip links will be immediately moved to the beginning of the list. They will be followed by sites with recips – color coded by the selected number of recips and the sites which require single recip (no other recips per gallery) will be moved to the end of the list.
This gives you a real opportunity to verify which recips will be generated together.

If you wish to change the order of the generated sites, you can do so in several ways:
     a)   Ranking by any detail in the column: Click on the desired table column header. Double-clicking will reverse the sorting; If you wish to rank them by several columns at once, first click on one column header. When the sites are ordered, hold CTRL and click on the second column header. Continue doing so if necessary.
     b)   Change site order manually: Highlight site(s) and click the number at the beginning of the row (in the # column), to which you want to move the site. It will be moved immediately. This sorting can be used if you want to have recip links of certain sites displayed together on duplicated galleries.
     c)   Reorder the sites randomly by clicking on the Random button. This will provide you with random combinations of reciprocal links when duplicating galleries in Step 4.

Check Recip:
Due to a large number of subcategories and related recips it may not possible to set a recip link for a particular category for some sites. Before continuing to the next step it is very important (!!!) to check the recip links set for those TGP/MGP sites which have a warning icon in the first column entitled Check Recip.
Highlight the row with such site and click on the Check Recip button (or double click on the site’s row) to open a dialog with the preset recip stored in the database.

Check Recip

Check Recip

Recip Settings contains information on the settings stored in the database for the recip link assigned to the particular category for which the site was generated. To verify or set a recip link for a category/type click on Show URL to open the page of the site with all recips.
Once you have modified the recip click on Overwrite Database Settings to assign the selected recip to the category and store the selection in the site settings in the database.
If you want to discard the changes or close the window without making any changes, click on Cancel.

Please note that if you wish to use the selected recip during subsequent submits we recommend to safeguard the setting against unwanted changes during the automatic Database Update by locking the whole site in Site Details.

If you are satisfied with the selection and order of the sites, click on Save&Continue button. This will store the generated sites and you will be automatically be brought to Step 4.
The submit process will not proceed correctly unless the Save&Continue button is clicked in all steps!

Tips & Tricks:

  • If you wish to submit to sites from several groups (other than -all-), all you need to do is select another group from the list and click on Generate button. Matching sites from the current group will be added to the existing site list. If the same site is member of several groups, it will only be generated once. You will find the name of the group in which the site was generated in the last column entitled Group.;
  • If you want to remove any generated site, highlight its line, right-click the mouse to bring up the context menu containing the command Remove Selected. Click on Remove Selected to delete the site from the generated list;
    Similarly, you can delete several sites in one step. For example, if you only wish to submit your gallery to those sites which do not require any recips, begin by sorting them in the Recip Required column (by clicking on the header of this column). Then select all sites which are marked as requiring recips (i.e. those marked by letters T, B or H in the Recip Required column) and click Remove Selected in the context menu.
  • If you wish to generate all sites again or remove dead sites, click on the Remove All button in the lower left corner and repeat the process.
    This also needs to be done if you wish to modify the data entered in Step 1 and/or in Step 2.
  • If you want to highlight those sites in the generated list which are included in some other group (except the -all- Group) select this group from the context menu (in Select sites also found in). You can continue working with them, e.g. move them in the table or remove them from the generated list if you do not want to submit to them for some reason, etc.
  • If you wish to submit to all generated sites manually (i.e. including those which were generated for Auto Submit) select the command Swap all sites to Manual Submit in the context menu.
    Should you want to renew the default settings stored in the database at the next submit, deselect the command Swap all sites to Manual Submit in the context menu.
    Note: It is not necessary to swap all generated sites to Manual Submit. The sites which you want to include in the manual submit for any reason are already marked as such in the database, so you will be able to submit to all other sites easily and automatically while fully respecting their rules.
  • Once the site list is generated, you cannot add/edit/remove sites from the database! The same is valid for groups!
    If you wish to add/edit/remove Sites or Groups, you need to open the Database (Database > Show).
    Be careful! If you make any changes to the database after the Generate button has been clicked, you will need to repeat the whole generation process;
  • Similarly to the majority of site scripts, Chameleon TGP/MGP Submitter also uses a 24 hour system for daily limits (1 day = 24 hrs.), which means that a site accepting 1 gallery per 1 day will not be generated sooner than in 24h after the last time you had submitted to that site. Since TGP servers are located all over the entire world in different time zones, this approach seems to be the best when generating sites to be submitted in the most exact way possible while fully observing their rules.
    The disadvantage of the whole system lies in the fact that if you wish to submit your next gallery on the second day – yet sooner than on the previous day (i.e. less than 24 hrs. from your previous submit), those sites that accept 1 gallery per day (i.e. 1 gallery per 24 hrs.) will not be generated.
    It is thus possible to shorten this 24 hour limit in Advanced Options, if required; however, do so only at your own risk!
  • The only editable item in the table are Notes. You can enter/edit/delete your own notes on the sites by clicking or double-clicking in any row in the Notes column. You can use these notes to order sites.
  • You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F for a quick search. When searching for an expression, make sure you are located in the same column as the required expression. Therefore, if you are looking for a site name, click anywhere in the Site Name column, press Ctrl+F to open the search dialog and enter the text you are looking for.
  • Ordering of the sites by the number of recips is only used as a visual tool. If you enter a different number of recips per page in the following step (Step 4), the order by the number of recips from the current step will be ignored.
  • The Category column contains the categories you selected in Step 1 which were located in the database while generating the respective sites.
